AIXOPLUC SUSPÈS

2021

Soil, roots, ceramics, cloth, plants and iron

Exhibition at

_____________

An installation made up of many components that create an immersive experience, Aixopluc Suspès takes on ritualistic characteristics and appeals to sacred practices of communing with nature - such as the bond created when choosing the land where you plan to grow.

In order to enter the centre of the installation, it is necessary for the viewer to break through the immaculate golden halo that acts as a temple within the room.

It allegorizes the stillness and temper of a shelter, with the search for an untouched space to put place our roots, which is only possible if we stay still for a few seconds while the disintegrated halo returns to its place, resumes its form and embraces us.

nature in a country house,

parks, gardens, or on

a vacation to connect

with her/himself,

is when we should

question ourselves.

Are we living in the

most comfortable way?

are we actually enjoying

our homes? We should

always feel like if we are

held in an embrace.

_____________

After leaving the hospital

due to clots that formed

in my leg and then in my

lungs, I could not

understand how could I

even walk again.

After this terrible

thrombosis I could not

produce because I

couldn't digest my

existence. After a while I

was able to return to

the pottery workshop.

While creating my piece

I was holding it strong

almost suffocating it.

I clung tightly to the

mud in my hands,

which represented

perfectly as I felt myself

clinging to life.

_____________

Can a bird use a nest

manufactured by men?

Could it be that the nest is

alive and that's why it can

be a home? The circle that

contains life, new life.

The membrane of what

contains something alive,

is this membrane an

extension of that life?

Do we even notice how

things conquer our

mind, skin and insides?

It is there, taking over us,

transforming us,

convincing us that we were
